PAIGE MACLEAN

“Look beyond the noise – life’s defining moments deserve a partnership

built on trust and expertise. Make financial decisions with confidence.”

SENIOR WEALTH ADVISOR, Paige Maclean, and her business partner, Nick Rychlo, have worked together for more than 17 years. The practice they’ve built is driven by a team approach, with a focus on empowering clients. As a team, Paige and Nick are interchangeable, once you’ve become a client, either one of them is fully capable of jumping in to assist you at any time. Together, they work to ensure that they’re both knowledgeable and aware of every client’s circumstances. Working as a team provides quick response times when clients need help fast.

“You’ve probably heard the old saying it takes a village,” explains Paige. “We want to be that village for our clients. If one of us is unavailable, we want the other to step in. As a result, we make sure that both of us understand our clients and their needs. We try to make ourselves interchangeable because we value continuity and we want to provide that for our clients.”

Knowing their clients is one of the ways that the Maclean Rychlo Financial Group keeps the focus on client needs first while developing holistic financial plans. Ultimately, the aim is to help individuals and families achieve the goals that matter most to them. Paige knows that clients always benefit from financial planning and investment strategies that focus on their best interests.

“What truly sets our team apart is our commitment to making clients feel comfortable and confident,” she adds. “We are exceptional listeners and deeply empathic. Our unique niche lies in our total wealth approach, supporting individuals during the crucial 10 years leading up to retirement and the first 10 years after exiting the workforce. It’s a bit of a sweet spot where well crafted strategies have a profound impact on financial security. By focusing on these years, we bring our clients peace of mind and help them see that they can be financially secure during retirement.”

In a world of constant change and financial uncertainty, navigating the complexities of wealth requires more than just practical advice. Paige and her team serve as trusted partners who truly understand the journey in its totality.

The Foundation: Confidence, Experience, Empathy, and a Unique Approach

Paige has built a strong foundation in this industry with over three decades in the business. Her confidence and passion are reassuring qualities in an advisor. However, it is her ability to help others find confidence via her experience and empathy that resonates most. She relates to many people and their life experiences. Her career as an advisor began in a bank where she first discovered that she had an aptitude for finance and a passion for helping others.

“My journey began as a bank teller,” she explains. “I worked my way up through dedicated effort and the mentorship of incredible colleagues like my former business partner. My career path, coupled with continuous specialization through industry designations, has allowed me to build an extensive wealth of knowledge and experience. Over time I’ve learned that working with a client is always a partnership and it takes trust to build that confidence with someone.”

Paige credits her personal life experiences and challenges as contributors to her approach to wealth management. She has raised a family; undergone personal and family health issues and draws on the life experiences of many clients to help her counsel and create strategies for others.

“I’ve walked through uncertainty, I’ve helped many others do the same, and I understand the emotional weight that may accompany it,” says Paige. “My personal connections with the curve balls life can throw allows me to not only manage wealth with precision but also to empathize and help others articulate their challenges. I show clients that they can get through that big life altering change they’re facing. For myself, and my team, managing someone’s wealth is almost the easiest part; the real value comes from guiding them to feel financially secure even when life doesn’t feel that way.”

Paige and her team are specialists in guiding clients through life's most significant transitions – good or bad – with confidence.

Beyond the Numbers: Holistic Wealth Planning and Family Futures

The Maclean Rychlo core service mantra revolves around comprehensive Total Wealth Planning. Paige explains that it isn’t just about “spreadsheets.” Helping others plan is about understanding aspirations, identifying planning opportunities, and ensuring optimal diversification.

“Crucially, the work we do is about providing the clarity and confidence that you do have enough,” says Paige. “We help people give themselves permission to explore options like supporting family in need today, rather than waiting to leave them an inheritance tomorrow. We even utilize stress testing to further enhance that sense of security and confidence in decision-making.”

Paige explains that her commitment to helping others also sometimes extends beyond direct wealth management planning to nurturing financial literacy across generations.

“While we may not manage every family member's wealth, we believe in fostering crucial conversations with younger generations. In Canada's diverse financial landscape, understanding accounts like Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs), First Home Savings Accounts, or RRSPs can be overwhelming. We guide our clients and their children to help them make informed choices.

”As a mom with two children who have differing financial personalities – one eager for in-depth discussions to help them make important decisions, the other more reliant on influence/guidance – she also understands the importance of tailoring conversations to resonate with everyone.

“When dealing with family dynamics and different personalities, it’s important to remember that people will have different needs and learning styles. We are aware of this and work to personalize conversations for the most impact,” adds Paige.

Peace of Mind is Paramount, Confidence is Everything

Paige says that her team’s philosophy is to provide as much peace of mind as possible. Part of this is exemplified by their focus on personalized, tax-aware solutions. While they don’t directly provide tax advice, their expertise in tax-efficient investments and thoughtful account structuring demonstrates a commitment to maximizing financial well-being.

“We place a lot of emphasis on our meticulous attention to detail,” says Paige. “It’s part of how we work to earn and maintain trust – the cornerstone of all client relationships. We understand that taxation can be a pain point for many people – in general and from a technical standpoint. Many people don’t have a deep understanding of tax rules etc. Lacking confidence in this area, it often gets overlooked and undervalued. Accountants are specialized for a reason. We work collaboratively with accountants to add value and help reduce taxation stress. We want confident people making confident decisions, taxes are always going to be part of that.”

Looking ahead, Paige is prepared to manage economic uncertainty that may arise. Her passion for finance and her deep desire to help is what keeps her going at a time when she knows many people will be worried about money and the future.

“The next few years could be stressful for many,” she says. “Our team is committed to providing clients ongoing peace of mind. We remain vigilant, evolving strategies as markets and news stories unfold, ensuring that our efforts align directly with our clients. Despite economic challenges, we will continue to empower others to make solid financial decisions. Because, when it comes to your future, often the biggest risk you can take is failing to act. Together we look beyond the noise and take meaningful action that aligns with your goals – that inspires confidence most of all.”
