TERESA AMBROZ; Managing Partner KNIGHTS /LPC

Knights Legal Professional Corporation (Knights LPC) is a new breed of law firm

Clients describe Teresa Ambroz and her business partner Yuce

Baykara as highly innovative, extremely tenacious and exceedingly

client focused legal and business partners.

A ‘partnership’ mindset ensures Knights LPC brings the full depth and

breadth of the partner’s legal and business experience to their clients’

commercial activities. As a result of their ability to foresee and solve

hidden problems and to identify opportunities, the firm has earned a

reputation for adding value not cost to their clients’ business activities.

According to Ms. Ambroz, “Yuce and I want to help our clients broaden

their scope of opportunity, to make the best possible business decisions,

and to have the freedom and flexibility to get the legal advice they need

when they need it. We are part of our client’s teams, their journey and their success. We don’t want our clients to avoid consulting with us because they are worried about having a large legal bill to pay.

”Throughout North America, and for many years, Managing Partner Teresa Ambroz has provided strategic advice and business consulting to emerging and development-stage public and private sector companies.“I know what it takes to explore opportunities, brainstorm ideas, create complementary business partnerships, network, and to cost effectively manage risk in a competitive marketplace,” she says.

Her unique professional experience helps Ms. Ambroz to bridge her clients’ desire to embrace risk and improve their bottom lines.Combined with her legal partner’s skill to mitigate risk and preserve bottom lines, the partners’ are highly balanced and provide innovative solutions that satisfy both. Outside of business consulting, her main practice areas encompass Small Claims, Landlord Tenant Tribunals, Provincial Offenses and working closely with Transportation Logistics companies to mitigate CVOR infraction ratings.

Her entrepreneurial flair and business credentials speak for themselves. Prior to establishing Knights LPC, Teresa worked with high growth companies providing strategic advice and business consulting. She has been involved in start-ups and acquisitions for a variety of businesses both in the public and private sectors.

Ms. Ambroz is a business consultant, licensed Paralegal and is an active member of the Ontario Paralegal Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. “As you can see from my diverse business experience, I had a very lucrative and intellectually stimulating private sector career.

"Despite these incredible accomplishments, I still wanted to do more."

After careful thought, I realized that complimenting my core business skills with a legal framework, would significantly increase the value I brought to my clients. So gave myself permission to go for it,” she says.

In Ontario, a license from the Law Society is required to own a law firm. Ms. Ambroz wasn’t about to let an administrative matter like a license stand in the way of her dream. She went back to school later in her career, earned her Paralegal License with honors. Within the first year of her practice, she and her partner Yuce Baykara launched Knights LPC and have expanded their practice to serve clients across Canada.

In addition to growing and consulting with some of Canada’s most innovative businesses, Ms. Ambroz has always been a passionate child safety advocate and on-air spokesperson and has appeared on NBC and FOX News in this capacity. She also supports a host of other civic causes, local and district school board committees, and many Canadian non-profit organizations.

Most recently, her volunteer work was recognized with a City of Vaughan Volunteer Service Award (2014-16), she served as a member of the York Region Parent Involvement Committee (2014-16), and chaired York Catholic School Board Parent Council (2013-16). Ms. Ambroz currently serves as Director of Sponsorship for the Dreamwater Project (www.dreamwater.com), an advocacy group promoting worldwide clean-water access and protection.

If Ms. Ambroz brings the business acumen to Knights LPC, Yuce Baykara brings the legal know how. Mr. Baykara is an award-winning former litigator and adviser to the Ontario Government.

In the earlier part of his career, Mr. Baykara was a Crown Advisor with the Ontario Government. He also served in the Litigation department of the Ministry of the Attorney General. Mr. Baykara has been Legal Counsel within various corporate commercial litigation firms, where he litigated for large clients at all levels of court in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Yuce Baykara holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Toronto and received his Bachelor of Law degree (LL.B) from the University of Manchester, and The University of North Carolina. He is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada.

Clients appreciate the partners’ focus on the clients’ time, resources and bottom lines (as opposed to their own).

For example, if Knights LPC provides incorporation services for their clients’, an add-on service clients are eligible to participate in is the firm’s ‘Smart Start’ Program.

The Smart Start program gives new business owners and entrepreneurs access to a fixed number of hours of legal advice and services for one flat fee. For a fixed monthly fee, clients can also access templates and boilerplate wording for a wide variety of forms, agreements, licenses and the like. Normally, clients would pay significant fees to create each one of these specialized documents individually. The ‘Smart Start’Program cost savings to access a fixed number of hours for legal advice along with well-worded boilerplate business material is significant.

Knights LPC is also extremely efficient because the partners use technology to more effectively serve clients. Whenever required, the partner meetings are held virtually through Skype, online webinar or over a conference call. Rather than have their clients who may not have the time or money to travel to and from the firm’s head office, the firm’s clients have more time to focus on what’s important to them - building and running their businesses.

The partners are committed to having a highly transparent law firm and have invested time and money into client centrist software that allows their clients to view the status of their legal matters, access their documents, review emails, see calendar dates, chat, share information and most importantly, their billings twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

The partners also understand and appreciate the power of networking and wherever possible, work together to connect clients and suppliers with opportunities, financing, employees and each other.

“We always look for new ways to make what we do more efficient, more cost effective and simpler. We leverage experience, technology, communication and networking to get these results. And, it works. Our practice has grown so much that we’ve had to move into larger offices to assist with the growing demands of our national clients in less than a year,” Managing Partner Teresa Ambroz says.
